This is a fill in the blank exercise that I have created for a Black man and a Black woman to complete. I have asked them to share their personal experiences with their emotions and perspectives on Black identity and the Black community. I have also asked for their opinions on life and wherever else their mind wanders. As an ally, I am looking to hear their voices and understand their thoughts to share with a like-minded audience. Enjoy.

MY NAME IS Nicole Cummings-Morgan.

I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY LIFE BECAUSE I have been blessed with so much. A great support system including family, friends, opportunities, and health.

I AM FEARFUL FOR MY LIFE BECAUSE I figured out my path a lot later in life. Now, I feel like I am in a rush to get things done.

I AM CAPABLE of making changes in the WORLD!

I AM INCAPABLE of NOTHING!

I AM STRONG because I have confidence, positive self-esteem, and faith.

I FEEL WEAK when I procrastinate.

I AM HAPPY because I live in love. I FEEL loved and I have many people around me that I love.

I WORRY A LOT because systems are NOT changing.

I AM PROUD of my accomplishments with raising a family, going to school, starting a business, and publishing a story.

I FEEL UPSET when I watch the news and see Black youth dying, and not living up to their full potential.

ONE THING I WANT TO CHANGE ABOUT THE WORLD is how people think of each other. We need to see the world as a local community where we all help one another.

I ASPIRE TO BE the owner of an Early Childhood Education Empire. The first and ONLY!

I GET UPSET when families do not realize the impact and influence they have on young people.

I FEEL FEAR when my children go out.

I HOPE one day racism, discrimination, and poverty is eradicated.

I WILL continue to do what I can through my work to help others in order to make the world a better place.

I WONDER what life would be like if more of us got along.

I LOVE BEING BLACK BECAUSE Blackness is beautiful and our Black culture has influenced so much including music, art, and fashion. That is something to be proud of!

MY NAME IS Nicole Cummings-Morgan—victory to the people!
